The import conditions for updated bee products in Australia

On March 7, 2024, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry changed the import conditions for bee products. Mainly including:
(1) No import license from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry is required;
(2) These import conditions cover the entry or unloading of bee products into Western Australia;
(3) To demonstrate compliance with this requirement, the following information must be presented on the health certificate: a. The product comes from a beekeeping facility in a country or region that is free of European bedbugs, or b. The product has been processed to ensure that it can damage M. plutonius 2.1 by exposing it to at least 15 kGy through any of the following methods 2.2 Heat treat at a minimum core temperature of 60 ° C (140 ° F) for at least 8 hours, or c. discover that the product does not contain Plutonium Mycobacterium through the testing methods described in the relevant chapters of the World Organization for Animal Health's Land Handbook;
(4) To demonstrate compliance with this requirement, you must provide the following information in the manufacturer's declaration: a. The goods are pure and free of excess materials, or b. These goods are components of other goods and are pure and free of foreign substances before being added to other goods

This requirement will take effect from March 7, 2024.
