On March 13, 2024, the Azerbaijan Food Safety Administration formulated regulations related to the registration of new foods, which will be implemented from the date of publication. Main content:
(1) Scope and definition of application; Registration regulations for new foods, genetically modified foods, natural mineral water, and other foods;
(2) Product registration requirements. The application form should be filled out in Azerbaijani, Russian, or English; New Food Registration provides: product name; Product description: Molecular structure and ingredients contained; Concentration information; Production process; Storage conditions and shelf life; The certificate of origin of imported products and the safety confirmation issued by the competent government agency;
(3) Labeling requirements for imported food containing bioactive ingredients. The Azerbaijani language label reads "non pharmaceutical" and "kept out of reach of children"; The usage method of the product, the international name of the ingredient indicated in its composition, the content of the active ingredient, the manufacturer's name and address, and the recommended daily intake dose; Batch number; Product storage conditions, shelf life, etc.

After the implementation of this regulation, imported products will be strictly inspected in accordance with relevant inspection and quarantine procedures and policies. Therefore, in order to avoid export discoveries, relevant enterprises are required to strictly follow the laws and regulations of the importing country for production, processing, packaging, and distribution. Samples will be confirmed with importers in strict accordance with local requirements, and production will be carried out strictly according to the confirmed samples to avoid the risk of goods being returned
